Review by hotel critic
During my recent stay at Dera Haveli - Heritage Homestay in Gwalior, the balance of value and comfort struck me. Tucked away from the bustling streets, this charming oasis is just a short tuk-tuk ride from the iconic Gwalior Fort. The serene atmosphere makes for a peaceful escape, perfect for those seeking rest. My room was spacious and impeccably clean, featuring a lovely terrace that offered stunning views of the fort. It's the little touches that made a difference-like the complimentary tea and coffee facilities. The breakfast options were varied enough to keep things interesting, and I truly enjoyed dining al fresco, overlooking the heritage site. The staff, particularly Rahul and Sohan, were knowledgeable and courteous; their local recommendations significantly enhanced my experience. Though the hotel showcases some signs of age, the heritage vibe and displays of royal history add character. The value proposition here is clear: for a very reasonable price, you're getting a unique experience steeped in culture and tranquility while enjoying comforts like free Wi-Fi and air conditioning. It stands out as an excellent choice for budget-conscious travelers.
